Suspended at the main entrance of Esplanade PVM (a favourite gathering place for Montrealers), the imposing structure is set to enhance the face of Montréal while adding to the city’s liveliness, vitality and appeal.

Resembling a gateway to the city centre, The Ring, was developed by Ivanhoé Cambridge, a global real estate leader, and designed by Claude Cormier + Associés, a landscape architecture firm whose projects have helped redefine the city’s urban spaces.

The Ring will visually link Esplanade PVM to the rest of the city while restoring its original event-related and cultural purpose, making it a preferred gathering place in the city centre. The installation will symbolize the strong connection between Montréal, its citizens and its visitors. It will create a timeless and contemporary atmosphere, as workers gradually return to the city centre and tourists, both local and international, once again enjoy everything the metropolis has to offer.

With its diffuse lighting, The Ring will establish a strong connection extending from the illuminated cross of Mount Royal to PVM and the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel via McGill College Avenue, which will be completely revitalized in the coming years.

This project is possible thanks to funding from Tourisme Montréal’s Fonds de maintien des actifs stratégiques en tourisme, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal and the Quebec government
